Recent reviews of the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station reveal a mixed experience. While praised for its prime location near Union Station and downtown attractions, guests have expressed significant concerns about inconsistent service, issues with room cleanliness, and frustrating operational problems such as malfunctioning bathroom doors and unresponsive staff. Some have reported feeling rushed and uncomfortable during check-in, while others have highlighted shortcomings in amenities and overall value.
Upon arrival I felt very rushed by the parking guy - he was also smoking pot I think or it was the car next to me . Mind you I have a baby and a toddler by myself … NO ONE HELPS ME. They party and smoke their pot and rush me. I legit felt like I was handing my car and belongings off to a pothead ? Then when we get inside , (leaving half of my things I needed for the night in my car because I have one hand and a baby and felt uncomfortable with all the pot and being rushed and was also offered no luggage cart or help. )Once inside I came to check in and had terrible service from the man working the front desk. The person who booked the room for my daughters and I (my mother) is in the hospital with my father who is in the PCU to be exact - nothing we expected - so stressful and she sends us to go without her ,thinking she already took care of the room - the card is on file . NOPE, the guy HAS to have the physical card ,despite talking to my mom on the phone in the hospital room , her approving it ,asking him to run it and explaining the situation and he rolls his eyes SO BIG and lectures me and then finally does it. She didn’t mean to not send the physical card ,and can transfer it to me on a different card but do we really need to make her go through that while IN THE HOSPITAL so we can meet your rules and regulations ?! After I have to pretty much beg to pay the $380 to stay there with my baby and toddler in hand , I then have to ask for a luggage cart . (I never ask for luggage carts I’m a young healthy mom but I had a baby with a bunch of baby things and a toddler it was the first time I really needed help) he once again rolled his eyes so big that they almost fell out of his head and explained that they are all being used and he’d “have to go find one.” Jeazz I can’t inconvenience this gentleman anymore , he is making me feel so horrible. So my toddler helps me and we find a way to drag all of my belongings up to my room without the cart so he wasn’t inconvenienced. Once in the room our refrigerator door wouldn’t stay shut but it’s hidden in a dark cubbie so I didn’t know it wasn’t shut and all of my food got ruined from their faulty fridge. The room was clean , the pool was clean and it was nice you had to use a key card to get to the room making it feel more safe . . But overall I would NEVER stay here again. At the end of my stay ,the girl working the front asked how my stay was and she “removed the parking fee” but to be honest I would have rather just had good service and unfortunately the gentleman left me such a bad taste in my mouth I still feel the need to write a review. You are supposed to feel welcomed as a paying guest and I felt anything but that . We also paid for valet hoping it would help me feel safe as a young mom by herself with her baby and toddler ,and I didn’t feel safe at all. I would want any mom traveling alone to know the service I received so you can hopefully go somewhere else where you feel more welcomed and safe.
Great location, rooms were very clean and thoughtfully designed, front desk team (including Jolie on day of checkout) was very accommodating, friendly, and attentive. Would definitely stay here again. Top 5 Hilton stay for us.
I loved this hotel in Denver!!! It was quiet, immaculately clean, and beautiful. The room was spacious and we had a nice view of mountains in the distance. They graciously let us check in early after an early flight which was also a major plus!! The hotel is across the street from a supermarket if you want to grab snacks or food. It’s also in walking distance to milk market and lot’s of other downtown attractions. I would 1000% stay here again!!!
We had such a great Valentine’s Day weekend stay at Union Station in Denver! The location truly can’t be beat — it’s prime and within walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, and things to do. It made our trip so convenient and fun. We paid extra for the room with a view, and it was absolutely worth it. The view was beautiful and definitely added to the experience. The rooms themselves were on the smaller side and felt just a bit outdated, but they were comfortable overall. Check-in was smooth, though the gentleman who assisted us seemed a little tired, and we did have to ask for a bag and our breakfast coupon. The next morning, Joy completely turned that around. She was amazing — so warm, engaged, and genuinely interested in how our stay was going. She made sure we received our breakfast coupon and took the time to check in with us, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again for the unbeatable location and great service, especially from Joy!
Stayed for a night while in town for a work trip. Staff was friendly, and rooms were clean. Valet parking only but they were fast and friendly too. Room was spacious and drinks at the hotel bar were great. They have community bath products in the rooms which doesn't bother me, however the amenities you normally get with Hilton hotels were lacking here. (Im starting to think this is a Denver thing. The last 3 hilton hotels in Denver had the same issues) There was nothing extra in the room. When I say that, I truly mean NOTHING. no toiletries, and only 1 bath towel. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were reallllllly soft. I didn't sleep great.
Mya was the guest agent who checked me in late on the night before my long Amtrak trip from Denver Union Station to Emeryville, California. When I arrived, she gave me a bottle of water, a coke, and some cookies to enjoy. She also gave excellent directions to Union Station. Mya was kind, welcoming, and present in the moment throughout our interaction. The floor I stayed on (9th) was quiet and the view was spectacular. Electronic key check in from my phone was seamless. I had a king room with a spectacular view. The bed was super comfortable and I had an amazing sleep. There were plenty of outlets throughout the room which was a plus because I had lots of electronics to charge. The shower had very strong pressure and the complimentary bathing amenities were full and the bath fixtures were super clean. This was a 10 outta 10 stay and I want to again thank Mya for the late evening treats that I enjoyed after a long flight from Philadelphia.
The hotel was nice overall, service was good as usual at the front desk and other workers. Check in was a slight tad messy. Elevator had issues going up, even from maintenence's key being used, so it was awkward. We got the room keys, went to the room and turns out it was already being used (luckily no one was in, but it was still a bit scary of a thought walking in on someone if they were in). Front desk lady was helpful and apologized and got us a new room. The room itself was good, a few stains here and there in the wall and furniture, but that's normal, the place was clean and had amenities, sadly the shampoo was almost done, had a few pumps worth of it left by the time we checked out. Location could be better, there's some things, but not too much without needing to walk a quarter mile for stuff to go and eat. It can be loud too next to the power grid station and highway.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Hiltons are definitely not top notch but are always decent places to stay. this locations was horrible. The beds were rock hard, floor was that sticky dirty feeling and the sheets and towels smelled like dirty dryers. The heated pool was ice cold. I actually got a RASH from this place and they are fighting my dispute. There is no way this place should have cost $900 with the service they give. Pick somewhere else nicer. The extra few bucks will be worth it. This place should not charge the fees they do.
The location was great and the rooms were clean. The bathroom door slides , and there's a big gap on either side, so there's no real privacy in the bathroom(you can hear everything) and no fan you could turn on if you're pooping. Would be perfectly fine if you were by yourself or with a spouse but not great with friends. Otherwise service was great.
The staff here went above and beyond to help my girlfriend when she sustained an injury that left her unable to walk for the second half of our stay. We were very impressed with their hospitality and helpful nature. The room was very clean and relatively quiet considering the downtown location. The water pressure in the shower was great, which can be a huge source of annoyance with some hotels. The ability to link my own streaming service accounts (Netflix, YouTube, etc) to the room's TV was very convenient. If you're the type of person who needs a lot of neck support at night, visit the front desk for extra pillows, since they are fairly thin. The attached restaurant, Woodie Fisher, was reasonably priced with good service and food. There is also a very convenient King Soopers right across the street to pick up snacks or small meals, rooms come with a small mini fridge and microwave. This location is a 7-10 minute walk from Union Station, so it was very easy to navigate the city without renting a car. There is a decently sized area outside the main entrance near the valet for rideshare pickup/dropoff for when when we couldn't take the train. If you do have a car, I believe it is $49 to valet overnight. There is no self-parking on-site. The pool facility was well-maintained and had plenty of seating and towels. If you want to stay downtown without spending a fortune, Hilton Garden Union Station is absolutely worth considering.
